The
Service
Andover On-Line operate
Andover's Premier Radio Network
with high-speed symmetrical
Internet connections. With
Internet access speeds of
512Kb/s up to 6Mb/s.
How
is the service provided?
To receive the service you need
to be within line of site (LOS)
of one of Andover On-Lines base
stations. Each base station has
a range of approximately 2-6Km.
Once ordered, a qualified
Andover engineer will visit the
site within 5 working days,
conduct a LOS test and assuming
the signal strength is within
tolerance, the service will be
installed. Further tests will be
conducted to ensure that the
service is fully operational and
the link will be made live. The
entire installation process
takes between 1 - 3 hours.

512Kb/s, 1Mb/s, 2Mb/s, 6Mb/s or
10Mb/s Internet connection.

Why
Andover On-Lines Radio Network
is secure
The Andover On-Lines radio
network uses a product called
WORP from Proxim Networks. The
technology uses Identification
between the Base node and the
Subscriber node using a MD5
secret string, which means each
unit on the network has to be
registered and both know that
their peer belongs to the
network. Additionally WORP uses
128 bit encryption using WEP+
with
weak key avoidance to encrypt
the data being sent. Fourth,
Access Control (authentication)
occurs locally and via Radius
server.
